My New Favorite Products!!
J Beverly Hills has come out with two new products to give the hair texture. Not to mention gives you a styling option which takes half the time of blowdrying and flat ironing!!  Crazy Curl and Beach Spray.
The Crazy Curl is a creme that goes on wet hair. You scrunch it in (using a liberal amount of product) and diffuse. Remember when you use a diffuser, once you have applied the product, let the diffuser do the scrunching. The less you put your hands in the hair, the less frizz there will be. Even hair with barely a wave can become a nice head of curls.  I know... I am always skeptical of "curl cremes" or "curling shampoo" (how in the world would that work anyway?) BUT I promise you, this one works. As a matter of fact, we can't keep it in stock! I am so sure you will like it that if you don't, return it and get your money back!
The Beach Spray alone works in a similar way when sprayed into wet hair and scrunched. It doesn't give the same volume of curl as the Crazy Curl but it definitely gives that tosseled, textured, just walked off the beach look. However, spray in wet and blow dry straight and it gives the hair a thicker, more volumous look and feel.
Wait... There is more!!  Think outside the box.. When the two are used together (spray first with Beach Spray and then scrunch with Crazy Curl) and diffused... Well, it will blow you away! Thick, gorgeous waves... Even on naturally straight hair!!

Having 13+ years of experience in the beauty industry myself and a combined 50+ years between all of the stylist at Strandz, I feel like we have learned a few tricks.  So the purpose of this blog is to regularly share them with you, as well as to keep you updated on any specials we are running or new wonderful and amazing products we have found. 

Strandz also makes an effort to stay involved in our community so we will also be posting about community activities we are participating in.

 So many of my clients say "I wish I could get my hair to look like this when I fix it"... or "How is my hair so shiny when you do it?" ... or "You make my eyes look so defined when you do my makeup... I cant do that."   Ladies... I promise... you can!  We are not magicians, nor do we have some glamour potion that we give you.  We just know the tricks.  The truth is that though most of us have always had some interest in hair or makeup and therefore played enough to learn a litte, we have just had more experiences (good, bad, and ugly)  than the average woman and therefore have learned what works and what doesnt.

So... lesson one.  You will always get what you pay for.  This is the most important lesson you can learn when it comes to taking care of your hair, skin, and nails.  If you get a $10 haircut, I promise it will look like a $10 haircut.  Though more economical, a knockoff grocery store version of a professional makeup line or hair product is not going to work, look, or feel like a professional product will.  And lastly and possibly most importantly... if your best friend, boyfriend, mother, daughter, husband, sister or neighbor colors or highlights your hair... well, you probably all know how that can turn out.

Your appearance is the very first thing that people see about you.  You are worth the extra effort, time, and even money to make your outside match your inside.  People will make their long term judgements of you after they have gotten to know you, but we do live in a vain society (like it or not) and some opinions will be formed on first impressions. 

I feel like my job as a stylist and a salon owner is to help my friends, customers, and other women in general learn the tricks to making the best outward impression that you possibly can.  Trust me, if you spend the time and energy (and yes, it does require a little money) I promise you will feel more confident and true beauty is born from confidence, from knowing and loving who you are on the inside and letting that show on the outside!
